Expert Assistance With Your Insurance Claim

The unpredictable Colorado weather is known to do quite a bit of damage to roofs. Unfortunately, many homeowners have had difficulty getting these storm-damaged roofs covered by their insurance companies. Power Points LLC knows how to deal with insurance companies to ensure you get the coverage you need. We hold your hand as you file your insurance claim, helping you through all the details, and every step of the process. As your advocate, we work with your insurance company to ensure you get the most for your roof replacement or repair.

How The Process Works:

When the obvious, direct physical damage happens, there are some common things to look out for as a homeowner.  These can include damage to the downspout, gutters, windows, or any damage to personal property (patio, furniture etc.) Most homeowners don’t want to go up to the roof themselves, but if you see any visible, ground-level damage on your premises, or notice that neighbors are getting inspections done, reach out to your qualified contractor to schedule an initial inspection. This inspection is before you contact your insurance company. This is not only and introduction with the contractor to the homeowner but obviously giving them the idea of the amount of damage.

From there, the contractor documents all the damage and takes photo documentation of the whole area. The contractor shares those images with the homeowner. From there the contractor sends an email to the insurance company stating the direct physical loss, date of loss, what was damaged, and the contractor’s information linked to it so that when the claim is filed (online or phone) they’ll assign a desk adjuster to call and schedule an appointment for onsite inspection with a field adjuster. The field adjuster will then meet with that contractor to vet the contractor’s findings, ensuring most of it is paid on the frontend and code items are discussed and put into the claim.

The adjuster will  evaluate the amount of damage to your property and then provide you an estimate of the costs to repair your damage. That estimate is then emailed anywhere from a few days to ten (10) business days. If there are any any concerning areas, they will temporarily tarp it off so additional damage that happened at a later date means its a different claim. Some adjusters are lenient about those, others are strict especially when it comes to interior damage. Payment will then be issued to the policy holder.

Power Points LLC does not recommend paying your contractor prior to the project starting because that money is your leverage as a homeowner to ensure all stages of the job are done properly. Do not sign contract with the contractor until you know the scope of work from your insurance company.
